WHY YOUR PERFUME SMELLS LIKE SANITIZER

99% perfume manufacturers face this problem - but they don't know the actual solution.

Most people use the wrong ethanol in their perfumes without even knowing it. Petroleum and country liquor grade ethanol destroys your top and base notes. This video explains exactly what separates 1st grade perfumers ethanol from everything else and why it changes everything.

FROM THE VIDEO

“Ethanol is mainly produced for three industries petroleum, country liquor, and IMFL."

Because petroleum and country liquor ethanol have a strong odor, they disturb the top and base notes of your perfume.

Globally, only two varieties are approved for perfumes - SD 39C and SDA 40B.

THE PROBLEM MOST DON'T KNOW

NOT ALL ETHANOL IS THE SAME.

Ethanol is produced for three industries. Only one is right for perfumery. Here's why the wrong choice destroys your fragrance.

Most perfumers use the wrong grade — and it destroys their top notes.

✕ Wrong Choice

PETROLEUM GRADE

Not For Perfumery

  • Strong industrial odour that disturbs top notes
  • Impurities that react with fragrance molecules
  • Destroys the dry-down and base note performance
  • Makes your perfume smell cheap
    ⚠ Wrong Choice

    COUNTRY LIQUOR GRADE

    Not For Perfumery

    • Moderate odour that interferes with fragrance
    • Variable purity no consistency batch to batch
    • Wrong denaturing agents not IFRA approved
    • Commonly sold to perfumers who don't know better
      ✓ Correct Choice

      1st grade denatured ethanol

      IMFL Grade Low Odour

      • Low odour - doesn't interfere with any note
      • 99.9% purity - consistent every batch
      • Grain-based source - highest rectification quality
      • Sourced directly from reputed distilleries

        WHAT DETERMINES ETHANOL QUALITY

        THREE FACTORS. ALL MATTER.

        01

        Source Material

Grain-based (rice, wheat, corn) produces the cleanest ethanol with lowest odour. Molasses-based has inherent impurities that survive rectification. RAW uses 100% grain-based source.

        02

        Rectification Technology

Multi-column copper distillation removes fusel oils, aldehydes, and esters that cause odour. Low-tech single column distillation leaves these impurities behind and they end up in your perfume.

        03

        Denaturing Agent

Denaturing makes ethanol non-consumable (legal requirement). The wrong denaturing agent adds odour and toxins. SD 39C and SDA 40B are the only two globally approved for fine perfumery by IFRA.

        Globally Approved For Fine Perfumery

Our ethanol meets the international standards approved for perfume manufacturing.

        Questions

        FREQUENTLY ASKED

Most ethanol available in India is produced for petroleum or country liquor industries both have strong odours that ruin perfume formulations. Our ethanol is grain-based, multi-column rectified, and denatured with SD 39C and SDA 40B standards the only two standards globally approved for fine perfumery by IFRA.

No. Our ethanol is 99.9% pure with low odour and zero detectable fusel oils or aldehydes allowing your fragrance oil’s top, middle, and base notes to express themselves exactly as intended. This is the single biggest reason perfumers switch to us.
That said, ethanol is only one part of the equation. If you’re still experiencing an off-smell after using our ethanol, the quality of the fragrance oil itself should be your next checkpoint even the purest carrier cannot correct an oil that has issues at the source.

It depends on the longevity and projection you’re aiming for. As a general guide:
For 10–12 hour lasting power with strong projection a Clone or Extrait style, we recommend 75% ethanol + 25% fragrance oil.
For a lighter, everyday Eau de Parfum feel 70% ethanol + 30% fragrance oil gives you good diffusion without being overpowering.
That said, the right ratio also depends heavily on your oil’s composition. Aquatic and floral notes are lighter molecules they diffuse faster and fade sooner regardless of concentration. Woody, oud, and heavy base notes are denser, they anchor the fragrance and extend longevity naturally. So a floral-heavy oil may need a slightly higher oil concentration to compensate, while a rich oud-based oil will perform beautifully even at 25%.
Start with these ratios as your baseline, test on skin, and adjust from there.

Yes. SD 39C and SDA 40B are the only two denaturing standards approved by IFRA(International Fragrance Association) for fine perfumery globally. Our ethanol comes with a full MSDS and certificate of analysis. Safe for all skin-applied fragrance formulations.

Bulk pricing starts at 25 Litres. For orders above 1L, WhatsApp us directly for a custom quote. We supply monthly to several perfume manufacturers across India and internationally pricing scales significantly from 220L onwards.

Ethanol is a flammable liquid and is shipped via surface transport (road freight) in compliance with hazardous goods regulations. We have established logistics partners across India. International shipping available for select countries WhatsApp us to confirm your location before ordering.

Yes. Order the 1L size it's specifically designed for testing. Use it with your current fragrance formula and compare the output quality against your existing ethanol. Most buyers notice the difference immediately in the first formulation batch.
