Black Pepper Essential Oil is steam-distilled from the dried, unripe fruits (peppercorns) of Piper nigrum, the climbing vine of the Piperaceae family native to the Malabar coast of South India - still one of the world's finest sources.

Aroma: fresh, dry-woody and warmly spicy, opening with a crisp peppery-terpenic sparkle. Unlike the ground spice it is not hot or pungent; the oil is cleaner, drier and more aromatic, with a subtle green-citrus freshness.

Uses: a favourite "fresh spicy" top note in modern masculine, fougere and woody-spicy perfumery (think pink/black pepper openings), where it adds lift and vibrancy. In aromatherapy it is a warming, stimulating oil used in massage and sports blends for tired muscles and to boost energy and circulation. Also used in soaps, candles and diffusers.

  • Botanical name: Piper nigrum L.
  • Plant part / method: dried fruits (peppercorns), steam distillation
  • Key constituents: beta-caryophyllene, limonene, alpha- & beta-pinene, sabinene, delta-3-carene
  • Note / family: top-to-heart - fresh spicy, woody
  • Blends well with: bergamot, lemon, grapefruit, lavender, rosemary, frankincense, sandalwood, cedarwood, vetiver, ylang ylang, clove, cardamom

Safety: dilute before skin use; may irritate sensitive skin if applied neat.

Available in 100gm, 500gm, 1kg & 5kg. 100% pure, undiluted essential oil - no carriers, no synthetics.
