Cardamom Essential Oil is steam-distilled from the dried seeds of Elettaria cardamomum, the "queen of spices" of the ginger family (Zingiberaceae), native to the Western Ghats of South India and grown in Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.

Aroma: warm, sweet-spicy and richly aromatic, lifted by a fresh, eucalyptus-like cineole brightness and finishing on a soft woody-balsamic note. Clean, elegant and less sharp than many spices.

Uses: a prized note in oriental, spicy and fougere perfumery, where it bridges fresh citrus tops and warm amber/woody bases and adds sophistication to both masculine and feminine compositions. In aromatherapy cardamom is warming and uplifting - used for fatigue, low mood and digestive-comfort blends. Also used in soaps, candles, diffusers and room sprays.
