Cedarwood Rectified Essential Oil is obtained by steam-distilling the heartwood of the Himalayan cedar, Cedrus deodara (Pinaceae), then re-distilling (rectifying) the crude oil to remove heavier residues - giving a lighter colour, cleaner odour and better clarity for cosmetic and fragrance use.

Aroma: dry, clean and woody with a sweet-balsamic warmth, a gentle camphoraceous-smoky nuance and the familiar "pencil-shavings" cedar character. Soft in projection but very tenacious.

Uses: one of perfumery's most dependable woody base notes and natural fixatives - the backbone of woody, fougere, chypre and masculine compositions, and widely used to extend and round off blends. Popular in soaps, candles, air fresheners, beard and grooming products and natural insect-repellent formulations. In aromatherapy it is grounding and calming.

  • Botanical name: Cedrus deodara (Roxb.) G.Don
  • Plant part / method: heartwood, steam distillation + rectification (re-distillation)
  • Key constituents: alpha- & beta-himachalene, cedrol, atlantones
  • Note / family: base - dry woody, balsamic
  • Blends well with: bergamot, cypress, juniper, neroli, labdanum, frankincense, clary sage, vetiver, rosemary, ylang ylang, sandalwood, patchouli

Safety: low toxicity; avoid undiluted skin contact and use during pregnancy.

Available in 100gm, 500gm, 1kg & 5kg. 100% pure, undiluted essential oil - no carriers, no synthetics.
