Cinnamon Bark Essential Oil is steam-distilled from the dried inner bark of the true (Ceylon) cinnamon tree, Cinnamomum zeylanicum (syn. C. verum, Lauraceae), cultivated in Sri Lanka and southern India. Bark oil is the finest and most prized of the cinnamon oils - sweeter, richer and far higher in cinnamaldehyde than the leaf oil.

Aroma: rich, warm, sweet and intensely spicy - the true, rounded cinnamon of the bark, with soft clove-like and balsamic undertones. Powerful, radiant and instantly festive.

Uses: used at trace levels in oriental, amber and gourmand perfumery for warmth and radiance, and the defining note of spiced and festive soaps, candles and winter room fragrance. Food-grade cinnamon bark oil is a classic confectionery and oral-care flavour. A little goes a very long way.

Recommended dosage Perfumery: 0.5-5% depending on oil; Aromatherapy topical blends: 0.5-2% (skin); Diffusion: 2-8 drops per 100 ml water.

Warnings Very high cinnamaldehyde - a potent skin irritant and sensitiser; among the most IFRA-restricted natural oils (use at very low %). Never use neat; avoid in pregnancy; keep away from mucous membranes. For external use only. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
