Coriander Essential Oil is steam-distilled from the dried ripe seeds (fruits) of Coriandrum sativum, the annual herb of the Apiaceae family cultivated across India, Eastern Europe and Russia. The seed oil is quite different from the green, pungent leaf (cilantro) - it is sweet, warm and gently spicy.

Aroma: sweet, fresh-spicy and aromatic, with a soft floral-citrus character from its high linalool content, a light peppery warmth and a faint woody undertone. Smooth, rounded and easy to blend.

Uses: a versatile modifier in perfumery - it bridges spicy and floral facets, rounds off citrus and fougere top notes and adds warmth to chypres and oriental-spicy blends. In aromatherapy coriander is uplifting and refreshing, used in blends for fatigue and low mood and in warming massage oils. Also used in soaps, personal care and candles.

  • Botanical name: Coriandrum sativum L.
  • Plant part / method: dried seeds, steam distillation
  • Key constituents: linalool (~60-75%), alpha-pinene, gamma-terpinene, camphor, geranyl acetate
  • Note / family: top-to-heart - fresh spicy, aromatic
  • Blends well with: bergamot, lemon, orange, neroli, lavender, clary sage, cinnamon, clove, ginger, sandalwood, cypress

Safety: generally well tolerated; dilute before skin use.

Available in 100gm, 500gm, 1kg & 5kg. 100% pure, undiluted essential oil - no carriers, no synthetics.
