Geranium Essential Oil (China) is steam-distilled from the leaves, stems and flowers of Pelargonium graveolens (Geraniaceae) - the scented "rose geranium" - cultivated in China's Yunnan province, one of the world's largest origins alongside Egypt and Réunion (Bourbon). Chinese geranium is prized for its high citronellol content and bright, clean rosiness.

Aroma: rich, rosy-floral and green - a fresh, slightly minty-herbaceous rose character with fruity and faintly earthy undertones. Brighter and more citronellol-forward than Egyptian or Bourbon types.

Uses: the natural rose note of perfumery - used in rose and floral accords, chypres and fougeres as a cost-effective substitute for or extender of rose oil - and one of aromatherapy's great balancing oils for mood swings, stress and hormonal ups and downs. Widely used in skincare and facial oils, soaps, candles and diffusers.

Recommended dosage Perfumery: 0.5-5% depending on oil; Aromatherapy topical blends: 0.5-2% (skin); Diffusion: 2-8 drops per 100 ml water.
