Lavender Essential Oil (France) is steam-distilled from the flowering tops of true lavender, Lavandula angustifolia (Lamiaceae), grown on the high plateaux of Provence - the benchmark origin whose altitude gives a sweeter, more refined oil. Unlike lavandin hybrids, true lavender is low in camphor, which is why it is both gentler and more elegant.

Aroma: soft, sweet and clean floral-herbaceous lavender - fresh and slightly fruity on top, with a gentle balsamic, hay-like warmth beneath. Smooth and rounded, without the sharp camphor of lavandin.

Uses: the world's most loved aromatherapy oil - the first choice for stress, anxiety, tension and sleep (diffusion, pillow sprays, massage) and a gentle oil for skincare and after-sun care. In perfumery it is the heart of the fougere family and a classic in floral-aromatic compositions. Also used in luxury soaps, candles and room sprays.
