Yellow Mandarin Essential Oil is cold-pressed from the peel of Citrus reticulata (Rutaceae) harvested at mid-ripeness - between the sharper green mandarin and the sweeter, deeper red. Mandarin is unusual among citrus in being offered in three harvest grades (green, yellow, red), each with its own balance of freshness and sweetness.

Aroma: sweet, soft and juicy citrus - riper and rounder than green mandarin, lighter than red, with the gentle floral-honeyed undertone that comes from a trace of methyl N-methylanthranilate (shared with neroli and petitgrain).

Uses: a smooth, juicy top note in citrus, floral-fruity and gourmand perfumery and one of the gentlest oils in aromatherapy - used for stress, restlessness and bedtime blends and often chosen for children's and pregnancy-safe formulas (suitably diluted). Also used in skincare, soaps, candles and diffusers.
