Neroli Essential Oil is steam-distilled from the freshly picked white blossoms of the bitter orange tree, Citrus aurantium var. amara (Rutaceae). Egypt, together with Tunisia and Morocco, is one of the world's leading producers; it takes roughly a tonne of hand-picked flowers to yield a single kilo of oil. Named after Anne Marie Orsini, Princess of Nerola, who popularised it in 17th-century Italy.

Aroma: fresh, delicate and radiant orange-blossom floral - bittersweet, honeyed and slightly green, with a bright citrus lift on opening and a soft, powdery-indolic depth beneath. Airy and luminous rather than heavy.

Uses: a cornerstone of fine perfumery and the signature note of classic eau de cologne, used in floral, citrus and chypre compositions for radiance and elegance. In aromatherapy it is one of the great calming oils - used for anxiety, nervous tension and sleep - and a treasured ingredient in luxury facial and skincare oils. Also used in premium soaps, candles and diffusers.

  • Botanical name: Citrus aurantium L. var. amara
  • Plant part / method: fresh flowers, steam distillation
  • Key constituents: linalool (35-45%), linalyl acetate, limonene, nerolidol, farnesol, methyl anthranilate
  • Note / family: top-to-heart - floral, citrus
  • Blends well with: bergamot, petitgrain, mandarin, lavender, jasmine, rose, geranium, sandalwood, benzoin, musk

Safety: gentle and non-phototoxic; dilute before skin use.

Available in 100gm, 500gm, 1kg & 5kg. 100% pure, undiluted essential oil - no carriers, no synthetics.
