Rosemary Essential Oil is steam-distilled from the flowering tops and leaves of Rosmarinus officinalis (now Salvia rosmarinus, Lamiaceae), the hardy Mediterranean shrub cultivated in Tunisia, Spain, Morocco and India. The cineole chemotype offered here is the fresh, bracing type most used in aromatherapy and perfumery.

Aroma: fresh, strong and herbaceous - a bracing camphoraceous-eucalyptus opening over a warm, resinous woody-balsamic body, with a faint minty-peppery nuance. Clean, green and invigorating.

Uses: the classic aromatherapy oil for focus, memory and mental fatigue ("herb of remembrance"), and a traditional favourite in hair and scalp care. In perfumery it is a key note of fougere, aromatic and barbershop compositions. Also used in soaps, candles, diffusers and natural cleaning products.

  • Botanical name: Rosmarinus officinalis L. (syn. Salvia rosmarinus)
  • Plant part / method: flowering tops & leaves, steam distillation
  • Key constituents: 1,8-cineole (40-55%), camphor (10-20%), alpha-pinene, borneol, beta-caryophyllene
  • Note / family: top-to-heart - herbal, aromatic, camphoraceous
  • Blends well with: lavender, lemon, bergamot, peppermint, eucalyptus, basil, cedarwood, frankincense, black pepper, clary sage

Safety: dilute before skin use; traditionally avoided in pregnancy, epilepsy and high blood pressure; keep away from young children's faces.

Available in 100gm, 500gm, 1kg & 5kg. 100% pure, undiluted essential oil - no carriers, no synthetics.
