Tea Tree Essential Oil is steam-distilled from the leaves and twigs of Melaleuca alternifolia (Myrtaceae), the paperbark tree native to the coastal wetlands of New South Wales, Australia, and now cultivated in several countries. A quality oil is defined by high terpinen-4-ol and low 1,8-cineole content (ISO 4730).

Aroma: fresh, clean and medicinal - a sharp camphoraceous-herbaceous character with green, slightly spicy and terpenic facets. The signature smell of "natural antiseptic".

Uses: one of the world's most used functional essential oils - the key active in natural blemish and acne care, anti-dandruff scalp products, foot and nail care, antiseptic soaps and hand washes, mouthwashes and natural household cleaners. In aromatherapy it is purifying and clarifying, used in diffuser blends during cold season. Occasionally used as a medicinal-fresh accent in fougere and aromatic perfumery.
