Ylang Ylang Essential Oil is steam-distilled from the fresh, star-shaped yellow flowers of Cananga odorata (Annonaceae), the "flower of flowers" tree of tropical Asia, cultivated in India, Madagascar, the Comoros and Indonesia. The flowers are picked at dawn and distilled over many hours; this grade offers the classic ylang character at an accessible price.

Aroma: intensely sweet, exotic and creamy floral - jasmine-like with a distinctive fruity, banana-like nuance, a soft spicy-balsamic warmth and a slightly medicinal-green edge on top. Rich, heady and tropical.

Uses: a signature floral heart note in oriental, chypre and floral perfumery (famous in Chanel No.5 and countless classics), where it rounds and sweetens bouquets and adds exotic warmth. In aromatherapy it is calming and euphoric, used for stress, tension and low confidence, and it is a traditional ingredient in hair and skin care. Also used in soaps, candles and diffusers.
